To be sworn in by Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur will go from Amerikaz Most Wanted to an inductee in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

Rolling Stone have confirmed Snoop Dogg will swear in Tupac while the lineup for the “all-star Shakur tribute” hasn’t yet been announced.

An artist becomes eligible for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first single.

“Besides demonstrating unquestionable musical excellence and talent, inductees will have had a significant impact on the development, evolution and preservation of rock & roll,” according to the Hall of Fame’s website.

Other inductees for the Class of 2017 include Pearl Jam, Journey, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra and Joan Baez.

According to Snoop Dogg, the two met during a wrap party for the film Poetic Justice (1993) which stars Shakur and Janet Jackson. After bonding over a smoking sesh and rap battle, they eventually became friends and collaboraters, notably releasing 2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted together.
