Chris Cornell announces Australian tour

Everyone’s favourite Soundgarden member Chris Cornell has announced that he’s going to traipse around Australia in a solo tour, in the standard five-stop format.

If that news really, really excites you, then you’ll have to hold it in because he’s not planning on coming until summer – December later this year, to be exact.

‘The Duke’, as no one calls him, will perform peeled back versions of Soundgarden and Audioslave songs (and possibly also Temple of the Dog tracks for those really rabid 1990s grunge fans). Most importantly though, he’ll also be whipping out a few ditties from his solo albums; his fifth self-done record, Higher Truth, is due to be released September-wise.

Tickets go on sale in about one and a bit weeks, on Monday 1 June. Tour dates are below. For more information, check out his website.

Monday 30 November – QPAC Concert Hall, Brisbane
Friday 4 December – Palais Theatre, Melbourne
Monday 7 December – Festival Theatre, Adelaide
