Australian charity Support Act, and institution Alberts have teamed up to launch a new mental health helpline dedicated to supporting the Aus music industry.

Through its Tony Foundation, Alberts will be funding Support Act to launch the helpline.

Support Act is a charity which helps Australian artists and music workers who are facing hardships due to illness, mental health issues or any other crisis. The new helpline will be the first in Australia specifically resourced to help these people.

Tony Foundation Executive Officer, Emily Albert, says of the new initiative, “Having seen first-hand through our family’s work in the music industry the prevalence and impact of mental health issues, we are excited to be supporting this innovative tailored approach to assist music professionals and drive improved mental wellbeing throughout the industry.”

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with the widely respected Albert family through the Tony Foundation,” says Chief Executive of Support Act, Joanna Cave, “and to be able to respond to the needs of the Australian music community in such a meaningful way.”
