After a massively successful inaugural event back in March, A Weekend In The Gardens is set to make a triumphant return this November with three nights of music on cards headlined by Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins and Illy.
After a hugely successful inaugural event, A Weekend In The Gardens is back this November with three stellar line-ups headlined by Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins and Illy.
A Weekend In The Garden is a series of concerts that take place in Melbourne’s iconic Royal Botanic Gardens over the course of a weekend – this year on Friday November 17th, Saturday November 18th and Sunday November 19th.
The event drew almost 12,000 people back in March, and is looking to be even bigger this time around with three excellent headliners lined up.
Friday will see a night of roots, folk and rock, with Paul Kelly playing alongside American troubadour, Steve Earle, plus Sydney indie rock darlings, Middle Kids.
Saturday is all about hip-hop with Illy performing alongside Thundamentals, Spit Syndicate and Birdz, hosted by Jesswar.
And finally, Sunday will showcase some of the country’s best singer/songwriters with Missy Higgins playing alongside Dustin Tebbutt, All Our Exes Live In Texas, and Harry Jakamarra.
Promoter Michael Newton says the lineup across all three nights will see the sophomore event build on the popularity of the first.
“The artists and audiences have responded enthusiastically to having a beautiful, intimate outdoor concert space in the Royal Botanic Gardens in the middle of this amazing city,” Michael said.
“The lineup of acts is first-class, and the food and beverage options are fantastic. Along with the Royal Botanic Gardens, we are very proud to be presenting another weekend of great entertainment in the gardens.”
