Unprecedented 7-LP collection spanning Otis Redding’s lifetime to be released on vinyl

Legendary soul singer Otis Redding, responsible for timeless hits the likes of Try a Little TendernessRespect and (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay, will have seven of his studio albums pressed to vinyl for a box set release this December.

Although attaining success during his lifetime, Redding’s life was tragically cut short in a plane crash before he saw the release of his 1969 LP The Dock of the Bay. The album would go on to become his most successful and well-known work.

The first seven albums released by Otis Redding’s will soon become available in a vinyl box set, released this December through Rhino.

The Definitive Studio Albums Collection houses original mono pressings of Redding’s first seven studio LPs. 1964’s Pain In My Heart through to 1967’s King & Queen – Otis Redding & Carla Thomas were all released during Redding’s lifetime, while the seventh LP The Dock of the Back topped American and British charts only months after his death.

Each LP will replicate the original packaging, from cover art down to the finer details such as original label stamps and catalog numbers. Since many of these albums are decades out of press, it will be the first time mono pressings of Redding’s work has been available in years.
