The self-proclaimed ‘intelligent dance music event’ that is Listen Out has just dropped it’s highly anticipated lineup presenting a full throttle list of artists. Spanning across four dates in spring, in four capital city locations across Australia, the festival prides itself on bringing punters an intimate and carefully handcrafted event. To make sure you get the most out of your day, and maybe even discover a few new artists, we’re here to guide you through the lineup. Here are six acts you would be crazy to miss at Listen Out 2015!

Listen Out list

With so many quality domestic and international artists on the bill here’s a listicle to make sure you get the most out of Listen Out 2015!

Rae Sremmurd

Although the festival is primarily centred around electronic and dance music, the lineup always features at least one hip-hop superstar. This year sees two brothers from Mississippi, known as Rae Sremmurd, blaze in with their signature young and carefree aesthetic and uplifting rhymes. The pair have experienced some serious achievements in the past year with their latest release featuring Nicki Minaj spitting the hook and their two previous singles No Flex Zone and No Type both hitting platinum status. As if you need any more convincing, Rae Sremmurd have also won over music heavyweights Jay Z, Kanye West, and even fellow Listen Out 2015 artist Alison Wonderland.

Hayden James

The Future Classic star first caught our attention in late 2013 with a string of captivating remixes and original tunes that quickly dominated Soundcloud and YouTube. Like a slice of summer served up on a platter for you, there’s no better way to kick off the spring/summer festival season than with James’ chilled house beats and soulful rhythms. Listen Out sees Hayden James take to Australian stages for the first time after completing his headlining Something About You European tour, so we can assume it’s going to be a big one.

ODESZA

American duo Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight are returning to Australia especially for Listen Out after their successful previous stint here last summer. If you’re new to the EDM game or have simply been hiding out under a rock for a while, ODESZA create beautiful, ethereal mid-tempo tunes perfectly suited for breezy summer nights. With 21 tracks reaching #1 on Hype Machine, over 29 million Spotify plays and a huge Australian fan base anticipating their arrival, ODESZA are sure to hold nothing back this September/October.

Client Liaison

Need a break from the ever-thumping EDM? This is where Client Liaison come in. The duo will easily get you dancing thanks to their abundance of nineties-inspired synth pop and disco vibes. With feel good favourites such as Pretty Lovers and Feed the Rhythm sure to make an appearance, you’ll be treated to the incredibly upbeat stage show that best characterises this act. Part novelty, part genuine talent, Client Liaison are definitely one act not to miss.

Roland Tings

Roland Tings is the epitome of contemporary club music. The DJ produces lengthy, spicy numbers to get your body moving, jam packed with drum machines, synths and various odd sound effects. It’s fresh, minimal and entirely entrancing. Whilst music can be appreciated at many levels, Ting’s sound is much better suited to a live environment where he can hypnotically entwine sound and visual effects to create one hell of a live show. Who knows what he’s preparing for Listen Out?

Childish Gambino

Really, this needs no explanation.
