Tour – Major Leagues + Ocean Party / Gunns

What happens when two bands who have been quickly building buzz in the biz team up for a national tour? Good times and great classic hits of course! Well, they’re not classic hits yet, but if you’ve been following the exponential growth of either Major Leagues or The Ocean Party then you’ll know the potential that both groups have to become the buzz-band of the year.

Major Leagues

The two bands are playing together tonight (7th Feb) in Newcastle and tomorrow night at Brighton Up Bar in Sydney before heading out to play a string of Victorian and Queensland dates. Major Leagues are then heading west to do Perth and surrounds with local fuzzed out chill-rockers Gunns. Full deets and dates are listed below.

Perhaps a better fit than Ocean Party’s clean Chapter-pop vibes as a support act, the beachgaze threesome Gunns embrace the sound of 2010’s lo-fi Cali-invasion. Think Wavves, Best Coast, Girls, Surfer Blood, etc. The only bad news is that they aren’t coming over this way.

Since you’ve already heard Major Leagues’ Endless Drain a million times, I’ve attached Live By The Sea below – the latest single from Major Leagues’ Perth support Gunns. After all, we’re the front page of new Australian music. Give it a spin – if you love it as much as I do, why not hassle them on Facebook and get ’em over this side of the country?
